Jensen "Banjo" pressure gauge
« on: November 07, 2019, 06:49:53 am »
Hi fellow steamers
Tis the time of year when I produce a few steam related items & I am now offering a few of my Jensen (only) Banjo screw in pressure gauges, they are 1.5" face, these are all chrome bezel & back, 0-30 psi, o-2 bar , they only fit Jensen steam domes & are not recommended for flame fired boilers (the lens is plastic & could melt) to use you simply unscrew the stock banjo screw & screw in the gauge, I provide (2) Teflon gaskets so you can get the proper orientation to your liking .by replacing the banjo screw with these gauges, it allows you to retain your safety valve and whistle. I have probably made over 60 of theses over the last few years & remarkably have not been "knocked' off by the competition yet, probably because of the difficulty in making them.
the price is $40.00 plus $4.00 shipping anywhere in the US
just PM me if interested please , I accept Papal (friends & family pay method) or check, I am straying away from E-bay as best I can because of their exorbitant fee's & taxes.

short video of how it operates, (this one has the black rear painted gauge)

10-4 Nick , fair warning though, I usually can't check my emails until I get home at around 8pm 😊

A very elegant solution Bruce, hope you don't mind my input but I have used a few of those plastic faced gauges on various flame fired engines (including a Jensen) in recent years without any problem.  I have been told it's not too difficult to replace the plastic with glass but unless there is a very major burner issue I can't see that would be necessary.

I agree with Dave as i've also used these pressure gauges on flame fired engines with no problems, i have one of your earlier all plastic gauges along with the stock Jensen one which i think is very similar to the one you offer here. Both have survived so far with my gas burners, meths or solid fuel might be a bit different since you can't regulate them as well.

Hi Dave....as I said prior , I have made (& sold) well over 60 of these either by word , forum & eBay , as you stated...people should be ok using them on flame fired boilers...but all one has to do is look at all the absolutely filthy soot encrusted boilers on some of the flame fired Jensens listed on Ebay right now to know the flame got way out of hand, I have bought many Jensens with the whistle handle Burnt on the bottom side. I have been asked to provide a replacement lens (or the whole pressure gauge) from Ebayers who thought a bowl of gasoline... or a torch was a fine way of heating a boiler. (YES, that has happened)  I also don't  have "spare lenses" sitting around to supply for their errors, I get 1 complete gauge...which I disassemble to a large extent to do what I do to them.  People can surely do whatever they desire with them...but please don't expect me to insure that kind of foolishness 😊

How do I get in on this?  I'd like to put it on my
Jensen 65 - if it will fit.  Is PayPal good (I'm friendly)?

Thanks,
Wayne

"just PM me if interested please , I accept Papal (friends & family)" the Jensen #65 is flame fired & I wont be responsible if the gauge gets melted by high heat/flames, having said that....if you still want one (it will fit your #65) just send me a PM & we will work out the details, thanks ,Bruce
