Little Schoenner “Vulkan” Arrival
« on: December 20, 2021, 06:46:42 pm »
In very good shape for 120 years old, but I’m confused by the model number??

The engine matches the dimensions highlighted in yellow, but is the model number 112/13 1/2 or is it a 112/21? I assume it’s the 112/21, are the numbers in the lower table wrong?

Hi Nick,

It is a copy / paste error, in the lower table it schould say 21 to 24 as in the price table.
Your beautiful Schoener is a 112/21, congrats with your purchase.

Maurice.

Thank You! I assumed it was just an error in the table.

I have a “Zenith” that I will have to dig back out and get a good picture of the pair together…

Don't know the model numbers but they're both great.

Hi Nick,

In case you don't have it, hope this helps to indentify the Zenith.

I clicked the BIN as fast as I could on the Vulkan  ;)

The Zenith came from bigal’s collection

Thanks again Maurice! I will have to dig it out and get measurements, but from memory it is likely the smallest one.

Cute little engine - pretty decent shape given its age.

So, how long was the listing up there and HOW did I miss
it?  You must have a secret search routine!

Congrats,
Wayne

Well, I've done a couple 'BINs as fast as I can' purchases
so I've been lucky on occasion, too.  I've been looking
for an old German engine w/tiled base but they just seem
to slip through my fingers.  I'm 'jelly' as my son says.

Put up a running video!

Congratulations,
Wayne

Thanks again Wayne and will do! If I can get both of the Schoenners in easy running condition I’d like to get a video of the pair running together. 8)

Forgot to mention, I had to search through the “snow” to find a small nail that worked itself out of the base in shipping  :D

I saw this one and looked at it several times, was not sure what it was, but the price was right. I thought that it was newer, 1920s-30s, now wish I had bought it!
