Doll “Pflasterer” #925
« on: October 21, 2020, 11:17:30 am »
Spent many hours doing this little guys job, now I can sit in the house and watch someone else do it  :D

Google translate tells me Pflasterer means Pavement, so I assume it’s supposed to be Paver

There’s at least one other out there (from the Ventix pages and looks to be the earlier decal), wouldn’t be surprised if Walter has one

And I can confirm that it is model No 925. Or is that “Working 9:00 to 5:00?”

Nick, this is a really nice accessory.
May I try to improve "Google"?
"(Strassen-)Pflaster" is pavement (which can easily be confused with "(Heft)-Pflaster"= band aid/sticking plaster).
A "Pflasterer" (please note the second "-er"!) is the workman who lays the stones for a pavement, a road worker  - or is there a more appropriate English word here from the the old days? Ah, yes, "paver", I see!
Would love to see a video, btw.

So jealous Nick.

Where did you find this one?

A recent purchase?

Thanks Charlie, it’s from the Morton Hirschberg collection (Dec ‘18 auction). Pulled it off to get some pictures and maybe a video tonight if all goes well...

I missed that one, but I bought plenty in the two auctions. 🤠

I missed A LOT that I wanted

It is really neat to own a few pieces from the collection, knowing that they are in the “Bible” of steam toy accessories   :)

I wonder if a lot of them went to tin toy collectors instead of into steam engine collections?
