Thanks!  ;D

I like your photos and what type of camera did you use?

I use a 6-8 year old Nikon D5100, not the cheapest camera, but far from the expensive ones. The lens I use the most and in these pictures says Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-200mm. For videos I picked up a cheap/used Nikon D3300 body that takes amazingly high quality 1080p60fps, far clearer than my Sony HD camcorder and I already had the lenses from my D5100

I am no professional photographer and far from having Jim's skills. I have tried over and over to teach myself how to use the different functions on my camera but the Auto setting seems to do better  :D

What I have found works for my table and lighting (4 led shop light tubes) is to put the camera on a tripod. Set the wheel to "S" and change it to 3" (seconds). I set the lens to manual focus and focus the best I can. Then I use a remote ($3 on ebay) instead of the shutter button so I don't move the camera. I'm sure a professional can spot many of my mistakes, but at least they are clear (as I can get) and get the job done.  :)

If Jim lived closer, I'd be bothering him both in the machine shop and with photography  ;)  :D
