Joseph Higgins’ Beam Engine built in 1994
« on: June 28, 2024, 03:40:42 pm »
This thread was inspired by @PO9RCHE thread entitled “Wood Wooden Beam engine Elmer plans??”.

I purchased this engine in 2019 at the Cabin Fever Live Auction.  It will run on 1psi.

Below is a short video that I recorded today of it running on air.

Immaculate!!!

Wisdom is the domain of the Wis (which is extinct). Beauty is a French phonetic corruption of a short cloth neck ornament currently in resurgence..."

Stunning.  Love the woodwork too.  Thanks for the refrence photos as I can use them ti get mine running.  I think mine will be air run only as well.  I really cant wait to show a video.  Yours is great runs perfect.  Thanks for the Share again. Also I didnt realize I said wood wooden beam rather than walking beam 😂

also same fly wheels with the 3 wood flatts combining to make 1.  And Much better varnish job and base.  I dont think mine was ever finished
Love steam engines, especially older German made.  Love the more clockwork style.  Addicted to this stuff!
