Got this little merry-go-round a few days ago, and just thought iīd share.
It is as all his larger accessories for the Tornado, also capable of being driven via batteries, should one choose to do so for demonstrational purposes.

The initial batch consists of 12, and i have no idea how many has sold already.
In case of interest Karsten Gintschel can be reached via this email: gintschel-modellbauATmail.de

A very nice accessory, that can be driven by the Tornado with no issues:

Nice little clip there Jan .... I wonder what my Diablo could manage to run without a built in genny?

I got my example a couple of days ago but sad to say it doesn't work - the horizontal drive gear has slipped back so that it doesn't engage the vertical shaft gear. Bummer but probably not too big a deal to fix - just waiting on a return email before doing anything, otherwise very nicely made.
Regards,
Larry

He sends emails to his "regular customers" which apparently started when I bought a Tornado from him on Ebay.

Strange, I bought the Tornado, rail set, and pump jack all direct from him but have never received emails  ???

Larry, something similar was wrong with mine, and at least in my case only due to poor packaging, which is very unusual for Karstenīs deliveries.
Mine was shipped without the proper support inbetween the vertical shaft and roof, making it possible for it to lift itself out of place, and knock the sprocket off when bounced around in transit.

Fortunately nothing was broken on mine, so i simply clicked the sprocket back in place...
It now lifted itself upon every second turn or so, to the point where the top bearing was lifted and caught up outside the shaft-tube, which in turn brought it to a complete halt, as it that way lost its connection to the sprocket on the motor.

Goes without saying that i was pretty unhappy at that point, so decided to leave it for a day to get done with my growling, before writing Karsten to complain.

Fortunately i went back to get a proper look before i started "bitching", to be able to properly explain all details to him, and by then found an extra aluminum spacer rattling around inside the base as well.
Swiftly realised that it belonged straight above the bottom sprocket on the vertical shaft, to keep the entire thing from being able to lift itself, and since it was installed it has been working flawlessly.

I did write Karsten later on, and told him about my problems, in order to avoid the same mistake on future shipments.
Cheers

Naw ... I've got three of them furry beasts... but I do also have one K-G Diablo and one of his prototype Dampfturbines of about the same size.

Ahnhhh, tempting addition to my Karsten pieces, but I am "full" at the moment.  Recently bought his Ferris Wheel and find it to be a wonderful addition...video soon.

Karsten is taking photos and sending instructions on how to fix it. I must be getting old 'cause things like this don't seem to bother me too much anymore - stuff happens!

A great accessory Jan.

Thanks for the two videos.

I just wanted the second one to be longer.

And you need to find some little figures to ride in those rockets.   ;D
