Many thanks, Nick. I've always liked the traction engines, as they're mobile but don't need tracks.

At one point I had a complete set of plans and castings for a 1/4 scale Case, but I had to sell them, both because my lathe wasn't big enough and because I realized I just didn't have the skill to build it, especially the boiler. A real pity, though, as, ironically, I have since acquired a complete Case boiler in copper (a bargain I couldn't pass up).

Equally ironically, about a year before I bought the castings, I had sold a never-fired steel boiler for a 2-inch Case that had fallen into my clutches at a flea market, but of course then I didn't have the castings.

Always a bridesmaid....
