Contagious It is not the bloody  measles .
It is a ( in my opinion) a chemical reaction between the ingredients in the mazac.
Not all mazac is created equal.
Mazac has not been refered to “muck metal “ for no reason
There is various mixes for Mazac and I am sure floor sweeping would sometimes get throwen in .

Zinc pest is about as contagious as brass dezinc which as you would know is zinc getting leached out of the brass to leave a copper sponge .
Nothing to do with who it sits next door to on the plane or in the display cabinet
