Thanks guys
Charlie, i am not that much of a Weeden fan, but there just seems to be exceptions to every rule, doesn´t there?
The wooden bases, and the clear red colour combined with chrome, just drew me towards the National Playthings era 43/44 models, which both now is well represented here.
The other two of interest, would be the slightly older and much more sturdy looking, "Empire knock-off" models 670 and 672.
Interesting. I have very nice examples of the 670 and 672, but not a 44. I will continue to search for a nice one.
I never thought of the 670 and 672 being Empire Knock Offs. But, they sure do look like a bit of IP theft.
