Doug_T’s Table
« on: February 26, 2021, 11:16:11 am »
Hello! This is my first day on the forum. I saw a notice for the online steam show on Facebook awhile back, and made it point to visit. Already very impressive displays are up.

My grandfather was a steam engineer and ran a threshing circuit in central Illinois, USA, at the turn of the 20th century. He instilled a love for steam in his sons, and that eventually rubbed off on me. Never a serious hobbiest, nor a machinist, I still enjoy running and tinkering with the models, and seeing them do actual work.

I hope you will enjoy this first video of a Wilesco D40 traction engine running a few Wilesco Worker drive models. I have a Wilesco D141 Workshop I plan to first-fire and video later today, as well.

Thank you and best wishes,

Doug in Kansas City

Certainly a wonderful opening Doug .... glad you could join us.

Sounds like you truly have Steam in your Bloodlines, and as such I do hope you will be with us here for a long time to come!!!

Here is a little video combing footage from the first and second firing of a new-production Jensen 75 last summer. I’m thinking about building a much bigger “shop” for it to run, as it is definitely under-worked here!

What a nice table here Doug, love those clear details and closeups.

Is that one of those gasburners from Serbia, i see listed on Ebay most of the time?

Will be looking forward to see the D141 in action as well  :)
Cheers
Jan

Thank you for the warm welcomes! I'm really enjoying the virtual show, and digging through the old posts.

Classixs, Yes, that is the burner from Serbia. They've made improvements to the hose/connection since I purchased this one. I let this one cool completely before refiring.

As promised, here’s a short video of today’s first firing of my Wilesco D141 Workshop. First time I’ve ever seen one in action. Quite fun!

Thanks for joining us Doug , a great first start, the Wilesco traction engines along with the D141 are a "best buy" Imho. Just such lovely & reliable runners, and of course your Jensen is a workhorse that'll last through your Grandchildren with a bit of care.

A very nice first run of that D141 Werkstatt, and it´ll just be better and better by each run, as everything gets worn in and smoothened up even further.

I really like your style of filming Doug, with clear closeups of all the details.

Well done, and thanks for sharing!
Cheers

Yes Doug  ...  that really did go well .... and looked to be good fun too!

I've often thought about getting a Wilesco D141, and once again find myself wondering why I do not have one here yet?!?!

Seems a near perfect set-up, just as it comes from the factory!!!
