Two excellent videos you produced last night Nick!

What a treat to see all of these Buckmans running.

And thanks for making longer videos.

Amazing videos of a truly amazing collection.

I have a number of Buckmans but have never seen such a variety.

I have yet to come across or seen a catalogue.

Thanks Charlie, was a late night (minor problems with the smaller one shown below) and morning came fast  :D

Thanks Al, I cannot believe how many different piston/cylinder sizes are used on the little ones... you’d think as cheap as they were that they would have had a standard size... Wish I could find some more history on them out there somewhere...

As mentioned above, minor problems with the smaller one... I filled them both and lit the burners... Was playing with the weighted valve on the big one and “POP!” followed by “TING!” from the smaller one. The cork shot straight up into the ductwork above the table. Wish I would have been filming to show that the corks can do their job  :D

The smaller one had a screw in the hole for it’s weighted SV from the previous owner. I assumed the steam would travel around the coarse threads and into the line. What I didn’t think of is that the screw would have rusted and plugged the line... oops...

I knew this weird angled pick would come in handy someday  :D  Loosened up the rust, raised steam, held the cylinder away from the block and blew out any rust that I had poked into the line

Heat shield got a little too hot using the long BIX burner but at least it did it’s job and saved the paint on the Buckman. Zero paint damage, but my cork sauna mat will need some repair 😂

No burns I hope.

Haha, no burns on me, the shield just got hot because it was angled into the center trying to keep the flame off the cast frame and it worked. Just needed some more protection under the shield for my cork mat...

I would imagine it has been a few years since one of these has been in steam...

Thanks Charlie, video soon, but for now here is the Buckman that started my addiction. Drove to Chicago to get this one from the “Roozle” collection  :)

Really wonderful and old engines there Nick, I can see how they got their name.

Really enjoyed coming back again and again to see the updates to your table, you've put on a real gala of a 2nd GPU for all of us to enjoy mate!

Thanks Jim, it’s been an enjoyable weekend for me firing many of these up for the first time in what could be many, many years!

The one on the left needs a connecting rod down to the pump, but thought I’d give the engine a run anyway

Thanks again Charlie, to be honest I didn’t think I’d ever fire one of these, but with gas the flame can be managed and there is no further paint damage.

You did a great job filming and editing the video.

I have watched it twice so far.
