Thanks again Charlie, to be honest I didn’t think I’d ever fire one of these, but with gas the flame can be managed and there is no further paint damage.

You did a great job filming and editing the video.

I have watched it twice so far.

I guess I better give you something new to watch  ;)

Out of all the little verticals, this one is probably my favorite... they got everything just right on this one... having the box helps too  :)

In my opinion, those Fire Engines are the most beautiful Buckmans in your line up, and
to see them running takes them over the top. The pumper still pumps is a treat in itself.
Kudos to you Nick.

Thanks Tom, just got done running one of my favorites, video soon... The twin fire pumper came with a dried out and red rubber hose that had crumbled to pieces. I believe I have seen them with nozzles on the end, don’t know if that’s original equipment or an addition over 130 or so years...

Love the speed this one will run at, have had it slower on air. I must have gotten lucky with the flame setting because I didn’t touch the engine or the gas from the time my son rolled the flywheel over till I was done filming and it maintained 65-70 RPM’s. Hard to believe how good the paint is on this one... if a child had received it, he could be 125+ years old and long gone.

Dear Nick - I never have seen a Buckman before and I know why:

they are all at your home!

Thank you for all the videos and i like the Safety Valves from the
hardware store. Never have tried this- ha ha
Really cute the little steamers!

Greetings, Arnold

Haha, Thanks Arnold  :)

I wouldn’t recommend the “safety valves” for much over 5 psi, but that is what they were designed to use. Most of the oscillators blow the cylinder away and release steam before the cork pops and the bigger engines have weighted safety valves. I wore safety glasses (probably should all the time when steaming) and after hearing a cork pop and shoot into the ductwork, I’m glad I did!  :D  Most of these runs were at 1-3 PSI and flame was very carefully controlled, so no real risk...

I haven't seen you with Safety goggles - ha ha - but you're right with old engines you always have to be careful.

This one is as arrived, have not had a chance to give it a proper cleaning, but I couldn’t leave it out.

With that steam engine running putting out the steam and that grungy grimy back drop, it doesn't look like a workshop.
It looks like a sweatshop. How many boat people do you have working there?
