Next up I'll introduce you to a singer that needs little in the way of introduction, as it may well be the best known and most produced of the Wolfgang Turbines .... the Noise Maker.
This large wheeled turbine, is feed tangentially at a significant off axis angle, while the blades are capped around the outer circumference by a brass ring that is either interference pressed on, or heat shrunk into place atop the blades, which seem almost triangular in cross section. The shaft hub on one side has a circumferential flat, that would seem likely to throw the wheel out of balance a bit, but perhaps that is done to give it more "voice", I really don't know. Whatever the case, it does not seem to cause any serious balance issue, and she is quite a singer.
