Just an old forgotten steam engine
« on: June 23, 2019, 08:28:44 pm »
My son and his family went camping on the weekend 4 hours inland from the coast and came across this old engine
that he sent me a photo of.

At least its not sitting in mud.
If I had the storage space... And the money... I'd have a few more engines.

Love it.

Looks like a challenging restoration project for someone. 🤠

Interesting , if only it could speak and tell what it's life purpose was & how it got there.

Bald tires suggest it was just a portable steam source and not a traction engine in its own right. If I'm not mistaken, inland from where Jim lives was both logging and gold mining country, so I suspect it was used in relation to one, or possibly both, as a lot of logging was done to service the mines, of those bygone times.

Appears the engine itself is missing.
