Daaaang...I think I do need to make a model of one of those Nick. I noticed he had to be pretty quick on the timing with that splitter. looks like a factory-made wood splitter, I like that a lot. foam wouldn't split, just compress, balsa might split properly.

The belt slipped and fell off easily and often if he wasn’t using really dry wood. It’s also nice having the screw adjustable bases for different lengths

"It’s also nice having the screw adjustable bases for different lengths" yupper....I picked up on that. I think this would be a fun build.

Model HELL  ....  I want the full-size setup!!!

Due to heavy snows and an injured hand I'm weeks behind in my cutting and splitting and with a class 4 atmospheric river headed our way this coming weekend, my wood demand will go through the roof!

That is a nice tool Nick, thanks for sharing!

I Googled these, and found several variations of the same system.
Would appear that the ones with wooden frames, is the more commonly found type.
Cheers

Enjoyed watching that...but cringed with almost every split.  That operator needed to be very careful if he was to have all ten fingers at the end of the day!

You buy the setup and I’ll be over to help you split till you’re tired of firing the engine  ;)

Hummmmmmm ..... that's a really tempting offer Nick.

However, I suspect that in the short term, burning a little extra kerosene is going to be far more cost effective, even if a whole lot less fun!

Did get a few extra days' worth of wood cut and split today once I got some dug out of the snow, so will probably make it to the other side of this next weather event. But what happens after that is what is concerning me, as there appears to be something else still on the horizon?!?!?
