Hello.
I have long noticed the defect in the bearings
For this I made phosphorous bronze rings and installed oilers.
The engine makes a much more pleasant noise.

Well done, Christian, on your lubrication & bearing improvements ! Can you reveal what size & type drill bit you used to drill thru the hard cylinder sleeve ?  I need to impliment a piston oiler like yours. Thx, tom.

Hi,
Can these replacement bush's also be used on the silver vertical engine. I think its called the M91.
The engine crankshaft has the same looseness and noise as described above .
Thanks

Hi Hurric123,
The needle rollers fitted are standard metric diameters for which you can get oilite bushes or even ball bearings in the same diameters from bearing suppliers.  The bushes i listed are for 8mm crank, 12mm crankcase bore and are 8mm wide.
Hope this helps

Hi Gil,

I am in the UK so used UK supplier Simply Bearings   https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/Bearings-Oil-Filled-Bronze-Bushes-Oil-Filled-Bronze-Plain-Bushes/c3_4511_4770/index.html
I used these AM0812-8 Oil Filled Bronze Plain Bush 8x12x8mm or SKF PSM081208A51 Plain Sintered Bronze Bush Bearing 8x12x8mm for direct replacement or these AI0508-06 Oil Filled Bronze Plain Bush 5/16x1/2x3/8 inch if you want to ream the bush and bearing housing to a really snug fit.
The bearing housings will accept 12x10 but i could only get 12x8 but the needles are about 8mm wide inside the cage so pretty much the same.

Kind regards
Ade

Thank you, Ade!

Hi
I drilled the cylinder to add an oiler
With normal drill and cutting oil
You have to turn slowly
but, I still used 2 wicks.
