Microcosm M91 Vertical Hit & Miss Engine
« on: September 07, 2019, 04:18:56 pm »
I ran #10 today for the first time. It turned into 4 hours in the Steam Cave. This thing is highly addictive. I think I ran five full tanks through it.

The only thing additional that I thought I could contribute was the use of my Drill Press Vise to secure the engine. I highly recommend this vise. I paid $13.44 for mine.

WEN 423DPV 3-Inch Cast Iron Drill Press Vise https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019KTKS9Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_y3bDDbPZH3R1E

No hopping around the table and I was able to put it on the carousel too. Below are a couple of pictures. Apologies in advance as I did not set up for filming. This video was filmed with my iPhone and without my LED Lights.

Great Fun Charlie! and a clever idea to use the vise. My engine is still sealed in the box, need to do something about that...

Aye, Charlie! Addictive is the word. Just good clean fun.

Nick, open the box and fire that puppy up! It will be sure to bring a smile to your face.

I didn’t have the garage open. But I did have my exhaust fan running.

Glad to see yours running so well Charlie! Mine is waiting for some replacement parts, but in the meantime i milled the piston down .100 per Gils advice and also made a rope start pulley. Hopefully mine will be up and running soon! Meanwhile, I'll just enjoy everyone else's videos!

Does that mean you have a new parking spot picked out in the driveway for your wife?  :D
