On another note, I question why there would be need of a Reed switch on an engine that was being fired by a Hall Sensor, thus it seems incongruent to me that the snipped off red lead (if that is in fact what it is) had anything to do with connecting the Reed switch to a Hall Sensor.
G'day Daniel....there is no Hall Sensor on these engines just that contact switch.
Yes, exactly, but in your prior post (three or four up) you say that the clipped red wire was supposed to be for a Hall Sensor. Or perhaps I misunderstood you?!?
In essence, you either have Reed switch or a Hall Sensor to make the contact that fires the spark plug, but you have no need of both, so what the heck is it with that clipped red wire???
