OKMO Harley-Davidson Panhead V-Twin Engine Model R30

An absolute delightful (gasoline) petrol engine from OKMO Microcosm the level of detail in the engine is incredible for the size,

This is a miniaturised version of the Harley - Davidson Panhead engine, it is scaled down by 1:5, and the details of each part are truly representative.

The engine is 120MM long, 90MM wide, 110MM high and 1.1kg in weight and the displacement is 4.2ML.

The engine cylinder diameters are 13MM, and the stroke is 16MM. The fuel is petrol with oil added (gasoline). The igniter for the spark plugs uses three 1.5V small batteries (4.5V) for power supply.

This is a rather complex model, which is made of aluminum alloy, brass and stainless steel CNC.

This one of the most complex engines that OKMO Microcosm produce and manufacture. This is a very representative V-type dual-cylinder engine with an included angle of 45 degrees.

Panhead (1948~1965) The 1948 FL was unveiled with a new "Bontou" engine and the nickname Panhead which comes from the engine cylinder head (rocker covers) resembled cooking pans.

I wonder if doing a slow-mo of it running will make it sound even more like a real Harley?!?!

They do indeed sound like the real thing in slo-mo. I’ve made many slo-mo videos of my miniature Harley engines, but I’ve never uploaded any of them.

They do indeed sound like the real thing in slo-mo. I’ve made many slo-mo videos of my miniature Harley engines, but I’ve never uploaded any of them.

Good to know about the "bite" that little starter cord notch "tooth" has, such that being forewarned is forearmed to avoid such, should I ever fire up my Shovelhead.

That engine certainly runs a treat, and with but a little imagination, even sounds much like a real Harley, only in scale and scale time. I wonder if doing a slow-mo of it running will make it sound even more like a real Harley?!?!

Indeed, so many of these little beauties, Gas, Steam and Stirling, fully qualify as pieces of Mechanical Art!

Hope that wasn't your trigger finger the little blighter took a chuck out of. If it is, you'll be a long time healing from that deep hole in your fingertip mate, and you'll lose some critical sensitivity on the trigger for a while to boot!

Had a good Sunday last week, everything just fell into place and I took out Wild Bunch.

Are you going to fire up your shovelhead?

Perhaps, but still undecided. If I were to be able to get a Knucklehead or Panhead to add to the collection, then firing up one or the other would be more likely, though still not certain I suppose?!?!

Seems I tend toward multiples of these engines, before I get around to firing any of them, thus I always have a virgin sister to showcase, as it tends to be much neater that way!
