Tony’s and Dennis’ prizes were mailed yesterday.

I hope they will share with us once they receive them.

I tried to select items that they would appreciate.

A couple hints:

Dennis’ prize came from Geoff’s collection.

Tony’s should arrive just in time for the Spring Opening of the Rhydypenau Railway.

Hi Charlie,

Once again many thanks.  So it won't be an aeroplane then?

I will report back.

Take care and stay safe.

Never made it over to my mom’s to pick up the package that night, but we went out to eat last night with them, so I had her bring it with. Will do my best to get a video loaded tonight  ;)

Happy Day in Brooklyn....

Well, my prize arrived today and it was a surprise,
a Jensen #30.  Well packed, thank you Charlie for the
award contributions.  Gil, thank you for the contest.
I'm quite pleased.

I took it apart and then sealed the sightglass parts.
I'll give it till tomorrow to cure and then give it a
steamup.  I've added some pix...

Wayne

WOW Wayne .... I just revisited this thread.

A Jensen #30 is truly a rare and desirable collectors engine, and that one appears to be in mint condition!

What a lucky fellow you are .... and what a generous fellow Charlie is to be sure!!

Major Congratulation on such a spectacular prize!!!

Once again....thank you to the Forum and Charlie 'Txlabman',
who donated the four prizes for the drawing, for the gift of
this engine.  Congrats to the Forum on 500+ members...and growing.
Maybe I'll win again when we have 1000 members!

I bought the sightglass tube and a gasket set from Jensen,
installed it all, cleaned, lubed the engine, filled the
boiler with 8 ozs of distilled water.  I plugged it in and
off it went after only five minutes.  A very good runner.
Even the whistle sounds good. Check out the you tube video...

Thank You,
Wayne

A forever home!

It is so easy to steam up and with good controls...
If I'm showing steam engines to a newbie, and I want
to be sure it will run, this is it.

Thanks again,
Wayne

It looks and runs awesome, Wayne...!!!

Congrats and nice video!

Please try to keep the water above the bottom of the visible part or the site glass tube.

Point of interest... Tom Jensen Sr rarely wasted a design on just one model. In addition to your site glass being the same on the #30 and #40, it is also the same part used on the #50's from the late 1930's through the early to mid 1960's when the round site windows were introduced.

Enjoy you prize and well done.

Super nice gift, Charlie!

We still have not heard from Tony or Dennis that they received their prizes.  It has been a while.  Dang the mail is slow!

Hi Charlie,

Alas no delivery yet.  But using Nick's suggestion as a guide  'My last 3 purchases from Trev all took 30 or 31 days'; when would this be? There might still be a week or more to go?

Take care Tony.

Take care Tony.

I mailed them around 10 April.  I can't find the receipt, but that is my best recollection.
