Completed this today. Spent most of the week prepping the wood plinth with staining and sealing and drying. This build was very tricky and was like a jigsaw puzzle.
Utilizing a Jensen 35 electrically heated boiler. I removed the engine off the top of the Boiler and soft soldered the steam chest. From there I fitted 1/40-40 UST pm research pipe work to the boiler through a globe valve. From there, travels down to a Microcosm whistle with a Tee fitting. After that, it goes into the bottom of the Governor and comes out the front with a Reducing bushing to 3/16-40 UST. The engine was drilled to this size. After that due to the Governor pulley location I had to do some intricate pipe work to route it to the steam inlet of the PMR#3. Getting the strap for the Governor to the correct tension is very tedious and I’m still tweaking it.
Exhaust is very simple at this present moment, comes out as 3/16-40 to a small cup.
Runs very well, and has a transmission for accessories.
I really like brass pipe work against dark wood grain. Let me know your thoughts on this one! [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
