How wide is the tube the heating element fits into?

I have used band heaters in two B-31's, a Play Boy, and an Elektro.
Each band is 35mm X 35mm and about 300 watts.  As it arrives it is
a bit too small to fit snugly, so I just spread it open enough to fit
firmly into the bottom chamber of the boiler.  Wire it up and away
we go!

If my bands are too small I'll just find one a bit bigger.  If I get
it.  Maybe if everyone else is scared off.
