Jensen Stand-Alone Boiler
« on: May 20, 2020, 07:02:07 pm »
I was thinking about sending a little stimulus over to the good folks of Jensen with a nice, fat parts order.

I would like to have the 3" boiler with the immersion heater as a stand-alone boiler for my smaller engines.  If I get the "Boiler with Bricked Firebox and Immersion Heater" do I also need to buy a smoke stack support separately?  Obviously you need this part to attach the cord restraint.

Yes, when I call they will know this but I just like to have my ducks in a row beforehand.

Any other comments about the immersion heater?  All my Jensen 3" boilers are the old style and this one seems to have a higher wattage which is always nice.

You will love the immersion heater.
Go ahead and ask them to provide the complete set up ready to plug in.... on a board even.

I didn't know they sold them that way, I think they would sell a lot if they were advertised.

And yes, the immersion heater makes steam fast!

the Jensen 3" boiler & immersion rod heater are a bargain imho if your looking for a stand alone boiler, incredibly powerful & robust.

Since It looks like Jensen is familiar with the stand alone boiler, I'll just ask for the plug-in setup.  I have a 55 that's been sitting on the shelf for two years patiently waiting for a rebuild, so I think I'll finally do that this weekend and see if I need parts (unlikely) and then call Jensen next week.

The boiler sounds expensive until you start pricing around.  Even kit boilers aren't cheap.  The 3" should do for all the casting kits I have in the stash right now and it will take me several years to machine them all.
