Looking for information
« on: March 06, 2021, 06:03:11 am »
Hi all,

I am new to the forum so first of all, glad to be here!

I have an old steam engine that I am going to sell but I don't know much about the topic. Could someone provide me with some information so I can value the machine before selling it? I have attached some pictures and the original ad from which we bought it at auction.

I am also curious about what would be a good platform to sell the engine through. Perhaps this forum?

Regards,

Sam

this is a beautiful pumping engine, your catalog page tells you much about it. probably worth the value the catalog set for it.

Welcome aboard from Denmark!

As Bruce already mentioned, this is a very nice looking engine/pump indeed  :)

I have no idea of current value, but would imagine that it would sell best on a wellmade listing on Ebay, with global shipping offered.
That way you´d boost the amount of collectors aware of its sale, and increase the number as possible buyers vastly, since modelsteam collecting could be considered a bit of a "niche-hobby".
Cheers

Lovely engine you have there and a GREAT BIG WELCOME ABOARD from Connecticut, USA..

The catalog looks a bit aged as today 350 Pounds Sterling is about 406 Euro (not 590 as in catalog).

No matter the value, I don't have a good answer re the castings supplier.

I will send your photos to a friend who might provide more info.

Hi, it is typically english made steam circular pump
similar to Stuart's model. Many different sets of castings have been
available in old Britain. It is hard to say who was the manufacturer
and I think it does not really matters the value. Prices are not higher
today than in the auctioneers list. Anyway a nice Circulins...
