Microcosm site “not secure” ???
« on: July 20, 2026, 12:01:50 pm »
I need to replace my misplaced P31 steam siren and the only site I can find it on is the Microcosm site, not on the OKMO site. Is it safe to purchase from the site being it comes up “not secure”? I would like to get one ordered fast for a show coming up in just under 2 months so all the kids can try it out…

I will try to contact Jin, but I know he is busy and was curious if anyone still uses the Microcosm site?

I have often used that site as a reference for looking up different model designations and current pricing, but I have never tried to purchase anything there, so have never gone to the page that you are showing!

Virtually all of my Microcosm/OKMO purchases have been from Evilbay when deeply discounted pricing was seen, and I used PayPal which seems to offer another level of security when making such buys .... or at least I hope that it does?!?!

I was hoping to order off eBay, but he hasn’t listed the siren in ages… so I don’t even know if that site is still good, being all my more recent (last summer) purchases have been on eBay and came from OKMO…

If anyone has a siren available that could get one to me faster, it would be greatly appreciated!! Kids love blowing the three whistles I have on my little wagon setup and wanted to give them a little more fun  8) I would gladly help get a new one purchased through Jin and off to anyone if they could help me! just want to get the project done in time…

Bonjour Nick,
like you, I’d like a new siren, and I wrote directly to Jin at this address: 'OKMOMODEL' <service@okmomodel.com>
Unfortunately, he must be really busy, as he never replied to me either.
By the way, I only pay him via PayPal.
If you succeed in contacting him, tell him I would also get a new one  ;)

Will do Raphael!

Curious, did yours go bad? Or, just want another? Did you lubricate yours?

Somewhere I have a brand new one, but I have literally searched hours for it on several occasions… I have come to the conclusion that the only way I will find it is if I buy another! 🤣

Bonjour Nick,

I have about 60 whistles on my model boats and only 3 sirens which operate perfectly.

Not obvious to install on boats with superstructures like my tug Moulay-Idriss (I spend my time screwing and unscrewing the siren whenever I need to work on the superstructure), I have installed them on "open" boats.

They are so original that I would like more and furthermore, my friends don't like my whistles  ;D

For information, as I don't use them frequently, they tend to jam so I fill them with a lot of WD40 to help it to start again.
