This is a recent Ebay purchase, a model boat engine and boiler. I thought it was similar to the Stuart ST engine and boiler, but upon its arrival I realized this unit is much larger and the boiler is of much heavier construction. The boiler holds 8 oz. of water at half capacity. The burner ran for 30 minutes on on fueling, and used only about three ounces of water during that time. I don't know anything about the Model Ship & Engine Works Company, and haven't really found any information on the internet. And additional information about this company or model would be appreciated!

That's a very robust setup you have Doug , nice purchase.
I also saw this on e-bay, I can't tell you anything about it but it looks great!
A very robust machine. Thank you for the presentation.
You have really good taste Doug, another one I wanted to bid on ended up at your door
I really like the clean design on this...
An impressive plant, congrats Doug!
It was made by Bathe Manufacturing
Greville and Dorothy Bathe were both engineers and collectors. They designed and mfg'd steam engines.
I may have owned that one at one point as I recall having one just like it. They are quite rare and were made in 2 sizes with 1/2" & 5/8" bores.

I was wondering if this was related to Bathe, had I known it was, I probably would have bid!

I have a twin cylinder Bathe, can’t remember the size off hand... I may have an advertisement for you...
