Jensen 75 + BIX + homemade chuff catcher

Got my first BIX in the mail today. Installed it.   Runs so much better than using Esbit or fuel gel.

Quick question:  Is the valve on the gas tank safe to leave on it? It becomes quite a nuisance undoing it completely and re attaching and lining it up properly.  I did get the No 8 jet correct so it burns blue.

Opinions and comments are greatly appreciated. (I am new to this hobby)

I believe you can just close the valve and be ok, it shouldn't leak out.

Think I would pull the line off of the tank valve and do a soapy water check to be sure the valve does fully close properly. Once you have insured that the valve works well, I wouldn't hesitate to leave the set-up hooked up all the time. However, it is probably best for long storage to be sure you have run all of the gas out of the tank and put it away empty, as over time and changing temperatures, seals in valves can shrink or take a set and become less effective.
