New Tarot engine
« on: May 06, 2021, 08:48:35 am »
Hi all,
well I put a pulley on the Tarot engine and had it driving one of my Aero windmills today. This is the first
time the windmill has run and I am pleased with it. You may remember I picked up the bare built towers very cheaply I got the fan assembly's sent over from the manufacturers in USA to UK and the company owner was a real gentleman.
I made the little building after studying St Pauls version. I wanted to drive my nodding donkey pump at the same time but the belt was fouling the metalwork so maybe next time
Regards all
Brian

Hi Jim,
The pumpjack and the oil derrick were bought as the same lot from a UK auction house, they just took may fancy.
I don't know anything about where the came from. They are well made from heavy steal and brazed up.
The pump jack revolves and drives the beam and the pump rod, I guess I could fit some miniature water pumping system into it.
The oil derrick doesn't do anything except look good. It has multiple strings from the top down to the block and tackle but the pulleys don't revolve.
All I have done so far is take off some surface rust and give them a coat of matt black.
I would like to know their history and whether there are others out there. I would like to combine these with my Aero windmills and make an oil field type driven display, but that will take up some space.

Thanks for your interest
Brian
