Some small PMR Peanut Rider Mods
« on: February 16, 2021, 10:18:38 pm »
Some small PMR Peanut Rider mods that I have been mucking around doing in the shed as the weather has been not to stinking hot.

Took Nicks advice and cut the red back on the flywheel.....wow what a difference that made. Looks like a completely different engine and to me more upmarket and expensive :)

Turned up some brass bolts to replace the PMR screws -

Very carefully hand filed the top of the shaft support (a mill would be too rough) and then super carefully drilled to take some friction fitted oiler cups that I turned up -

Just checking that the brass bolts will fit -

I'll put some more up below this post.

Also made an 'ember catcher' I have some stainless steel flyscreen (it comes painted black)and fitted it into the part I made that sits in the PMR chimney. I'm not sure if I'm 100% sold on the look of it yet. Its sitting too high, but I didn't want to cut down the PMR stack -

The red off the flywheel ...PMR should save on red paint  ;D

I think that was off within the same hour that I'd seen yours off  ;)

You guys are killing me with the nice mods on this engine that seems relatively easy to personalize....while I wait for my shipment to arrive :'(
I have a mod in mind I have not seen anyone do yet...for now it will remain under wraps, but if it works I will sing like a Canary! 8)

Way to kind my friend, its seeing work like what you produce Bruce that gives me the incentive to have a go at learning new skills and trying different things.
