My brother Nate was in Plano, Texas and visited Charlie (
@txlabman ) last week. Nate could hardly stop talking about Charlie's collection and can't wait to visit him again (me too for the record). Nate is currently doing a job at
Ford's Garage Plano to setup some static Model A Ford displays. It seems this restaurant is pretty close to Charlie's place. Also while Nate was at Charlie's he picked up the donor B-33 and a No. 62 for me.
I transplanted the donor's B-33 label to my B-33 engine that was missing the label, so it is now complete. I started working on the No. 62 by installing a throttle but as I was screwing it down my throttle snapped! So much for that plan, now I have to wait to get another cheap donor engine that has the throttle. While I have a No. 62 in my collection, this one is different: It has the cylinder piston and oddly the large wheel has a grove in it, that seems pretty unique to me.
Thank you Charlie and I hope I get to get to visit you sometime soon and I know Nate is chopping at the bit to visit again! He really was impressed with your hospitality for a complete stranger and of course your collection. Thank you for making him feel welcomed in your home.
