Problems with tapatalk groups modelsteam gallery
« on: April 20, 2025, 12:59:30 pm »
When clicking on the South Pacific steam site a few months ago I experienced an odd occurrence.
Odd music popped into the background and it took forever to navigate - mucho turning-circles.
The only website that gave me the heebie-jeebies, but I kept visiting in spite of the spotty
performance.

A week or so ago my computer went south.  Over a few days I was lucky if I could stay up for
a few minutes without freezing up and issuing windows10 blue screen of death.  I had to reset
my passwords to go anywhere, and still experienced problems.  Then I remembered my troubles
with tapatalk and STOPPED going there.  Well, no problems (knock-on-wood) since.  When life is
giving you problems and you aren't sure of the cause, whatever you do that eventually seems to
solve it was probably the cause.

Has anyone experienced this tapatalk problem?

Tapatalk has always been a problem.

They are always looking for ways to take more money and much of that involves interrupting your enjoyment, posting requirements, etc.

The Unofficial Mamod Steam forum uses Tapatalk and was terrible. It took forever just to log in and longer to
log out. If you wanted see some postings, prepare yourself for a three hour tour and get to see maybe two.
Then about six months ago that all went away, it's eazy peazy to use, ask Nick on this forum, he's there too.
I've never hears of that forum before.

Tapatalk is why I left the other forum. Delete one popup and two more take its place. It was like a bad game of Whack-a-Mole.
Give us this day our daily Steam

I've been using an adblocker for the Mamod Forum for years with no issues at all besides the occasional update.

It has worked good for me only by being a VIP member but I just received notice that mine is soon expiring since they no longer reward us with gold points for checking in and being active… will see what happens

I've never been a VIP member over there and was about to stop going. Then all of a sudden it works great.

The good news is....

Everyone here in the Office of Steam Forum is...

a permanent VIP member with no ads, no posting requirements, and no fees with minimal rules.

Really?  I have at the top of that forum to join VIP for no ads.  Though my username isn't the same (as here) and it won't let me change it unless I buy coins or some such.

Edit:
Oh, NM - I think you mean in "this forum" - right!  Which is why I mostly live here and generally post over there when I have something really, really cool to say/report!  LOL

Have you tried clearing your cache?  What browser are you using?  I've had both Firefox and Chrome slow to a stop gradually over time, which I fix about every 3 months by clearing my cache.

I don't believe cache clearing will stop ads.

Yes, I am referring to this forum.

Tappacrap is just a rip-off.

I would never let this forum be taken by tapatalk.

Sorry Gil, I misunderstood.  I thought the problem was on the Office of Steam boards and your PC in general.  You're correct, clearing cache will not stop ads.
