The mug that never was
« on: January 19, 2022, 07:32:17 pm »
I was contacted by Jensen Mfg. back in September about creating a mug for their 90th anniversary , they opted to not proceed (I assume) anyway , here is the prototype.

That’s awesome! Why they don’t move on some of these great ideas that come up is beyond me.

I really don't know Mike, they contacted me ! , I went through all the work to bring it to them ( @ cost & DELIVERED) I went with in 20 miles of Jeanette Pa on the way to & from Cabin fever , they still were not interested , I couldn't have made it any easier. lesson learned.

Sometimes it almost seems like they are deliberately trying to let the business fizzle out. Like I’ve said before, I’ve been waiting on a part from them for more than 5 years now. I try to give them business, but they don’t seem to want it or care about it, but I’ll keep trying. Lol

I guess I’m a bit confused why they contacted you to make a mug? Aren’t you an engine builder?  :D

That design would look great on many things  8)  Would look a lot better than many of the t-shirts I’ve had given to me 😂

Your confusion is understandable Nick , on a return trip from cabin fever some 2 or 3 years ago, 4 of us stopped by Jensen Mfg. To visit , show some of our vintage engines and such , I had made up some mugs for Tom G. Dorita, Andy & Alita  with the Jensen logo and their names on them , well I guess they liked them well enough to ask me to come up with a 90 anniversary style mug around last September , I offered several
prototypes (6) I was even able to source a genuine signature of Tom Sr's from Randy Tucker ( I asked Jensen for one, but they never got back to me) Jensen appeared to like the mug , but decided to do nothing about it despite many attempts from me.(Andy Guy Jr. Asked for & was given one at "cabin fever"). Mike pretty much "nailed" with his comment above.

That is a great Idea Nick , that would look good on a shirt (for myself) ...lol

Makes sense now, I guess being they contacted you to make one, that would make this an official prototype and future collector item  ;)

The new Office of Steam just wouldn't feel right without a couple prototype mugs on display!
