this is a perfect example of why we collect Jensen steam engines, you did a nice job on that.
-
I've always like the model #60. ;D
The non sightglass ones are very interesting, i remember seeing Nicks with the level plug many years ago.
-
That's a very nice restoration Randy and a good eye for spotting it as a special Jensen. I've stuck to the black fire box models like many others and am impressed by the knowledge of forum members regarding all the different variations -makes me want to look closer at my small collection.
-
I too have limited myself to black fire box Jensen’s but seeing these has sparked some interest. Seen one at the cabin fever auction but was out of the room when it was up for bid. Very nice resto. Randy

Thanks for the posts Randy and Nick on the Jensen 60.
As I have limited my Jensen collecting to Black Fire Box Jensens, I never paid much attention to these later models. But, seeing your examples may change my mind. 🤠
Thanks for the great pictures and descriptions.

Nice engine Nick. Wish the one I got was in that nice of original condition. Tried to just clean it up to start with but it was to bad of shape. Just got another one in today that has the overflow plug, throttle valve and is on the more normal rounded corner base.
-
Yep ... got one of those as well.
These little Jensen 60's are actually rather nice small plants, in direct competition with the similar models from Mamod and Wilesco I suppose.

Nice work as usual Randy 8)
I have one with and one without a regulator on the steam line, but my 3rd is very unique with a factory overflow screw on the boiler endcap. Cedge dated this one 1960/1

A very nice earliest version #60 there...
Well done on the restoration Randy, it looks great!
-
Very nice resto Randy!
I have one of those, and always refer to it as having a Wilesco base, rather than the more typical heavy, rounded corner Jensen base.

After restoring
-
I know it's just a Jensen 60 but it's a little different then most. Has no sight glass or plug, no throttle valve and base has squared corners. Here's before restoring. [attach=2][attachurl=2]
