I think itīs great Lenn !
Adding details like that to otherwise "standard" items, lifts them to an entirely different level, adding a cool unsuspected surprice-factor.

Thannks Jan, the teeth could be better but i cut them free hand on the edge of the chop saw.
-
Nice to have it all stored in a single compact portable unit, well done Lenn !

Thanks Charlie. :)

What a great idea Lenn. As others have noted, the latch is great. Very fine work!
-
Thanks Allan it should be handy. :)

Thanks Larry, the meaning of KISS eludes me.
KISS= Keep It Simple Stupid
-
Now i know, thanks bud. :)

KISS principle
KISS is an acronym for "Keep it simple, stupid" as a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960.[1][2] The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore simplicity should be a key goal in design, and that unnecessary complexity should be avoided.
This in no way is a criticism Lenn - I just like the complex latch design you came up with instead of a hasp and staple or something like that. There used to be a saying that there was no reason to keep it plain and simple when you could make it complex and wonderful.

Thanks Larry, the meaning of KISS eludes me.

Pretty neat Lenn - you certainly don't subscribe to the K.I.S.S. principle but that's why that latching mechanism is cool beans.
-
Thanks Nick. :)

Lenn, that cabinet looks great!
Very nicely done!

Very handy item Lenn.

Always nice to have an air compressor easily accessible and that cart should keep it from getting lost under the bench

If there's a drain on the bottom of the tank, I'd run a short pipe/nipple out the bottom, put a 90 on after that and run it out to the edge of the cart with a tap at the end so the condensate stays in the pipe, not the tank and it's easier to drain ;)
-
Thanks Rog and Larry, i think i need to extend the handle though.
-
Looks real handy Lenn - just the thing to keep all the hoses and fittings where you need them.....and the compressor reasonably clean.
-
Lenn, you have made a functional piece of furniture there...looks great.
