Bay Area where I grew up, but hadn't visited in perhaps a dozen years, I can't drive over there anymore! It's frightening and totally unsafe ... those people are full on crazy!!!

Three hour drive ain't that bad. Heck it's four hours (about 200 miles) from where I live to anything that you could call a city. Of course in a situation like that, the fuel costs must be added to the purchase price, just like shipping, so it could tip the balance against.
