I know more in-between.
It's being identified as a rather rare  Doll 346/1
And very early probably 1900-1910

But in this case, although it's a pristine engine, and thehnicly the German engines  are better executed, in the sense of maintenance friendly, and a more solid build.
The French Rossignol versions are in my view aesthetically more beautiful.
Here is one I restored about half a year ago…

I hope to own one day a Radiguet.
They are the cream in this type of engine.
Radiguet is such a pristine brand, wenn I look at their designs it almost if the bring  Jules Verne visions to life…

I also think that these engines as a pre war toy models, is one of the best imitation to an actual industrial one.

Looks Doll to me, but I have yet to add one of this type to the collection... I believe Charlie has a Carette in this style

I look through Doll catalogue for you and find none of the verticals have the two side support rods.

I feel perhaps you are right with Carette but only a guess.

Fresh out of the shipping box comes this engine…

(https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48266211471_34824cc5ee_c.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/2gx7X6R)

These type of engines where inspired on a French design by HERMANN LACHAPELLE ca.1900

First the French toy makers like Radiguet & Massiot, Rossignol start producing them as models.
Later Carette introduced it in Germany, of course with his French background.

But the engine above does not fit the Carette description.
I now found some weak descriptions that this should be a Doll model.
Does anyone know if Doll also produced these models?

Cheers,
Danny
