It would be great to find some Octura advertising, catalogs, brochures, etc.

Is the beam by chance a grasshopper beam?

Yep, it is. It seems to be the exact model you sent me pictures of one in your collection.
Thanks Gil

Don't know if there is any relationship or not Doug, but there was a company named Octura back in the 1960's that made model speed boat castings like flywheels and engine mounts. I'll search my hazy memory and see if any other related thoughts can be found.

I bought 2 casting kits today at a local steam show. Neither has been made in a number of years and little to no info has come from my search efforts.
The first is a Proteus generator- I think Gil might have some info on this one.
The second is aWalking beam steam engine by Octura models. All i can find is that the castings are from the 50's or 60's- a search has turned up no other info, pictures or videos of one. This engine has a bore of .973 and an approx 5" x 3/8 flywheel.
I do have the bluprints for both kits, but would appreciate any additional history or info.
