Nick, I hope that one day we can exchange visits!
Nice Doll you have there!

Another nice engine Nick. :)
Is Doll an area you focus on ?
Thanks Bob, unfortunately I am terrible at focusing on one area of steam and have filled a room wall to wall, floor to ceiling :D
I would say Doll is my favorite maker of accessories and one of my favorite engine makers... but Märklin and Mersey would be at the top of that list.

I have found an old post from Mike (Maxwell) stating:
So, no one has a catalog picture for the double slide valve below? but we have pictures of the single slide valve/rod from the 1929 catalog below. I believe that the single slide valve/rod was produced before the double; do you agree?
Mine is the single, but he said 1929 catalog, so maybe you are close on the date Scott?

I like the cranked-up paint treatment on the base. Someone probably knows, but I'm guessing the green shows this engine is one of the last variants in the 1930's. I really like it. I'm missing the /2 model to complete the model line. One day...
I assumed being a smooth firebox and metal DC badge on the cast base would make this earlier... But I do not know for sure ???

Flywheel and aggregate look to be in great shape... the entire engine really.
Great addition.

Very pretty... Great find.
Does it really need the circa sticker?
Haha no it doesn't... came from a collection that was displayed at an Illinois show in the late '70's. All of his engines had these labels, just haven't had a chance to remove it yet ;)
