I been wanting a Bing for a bit now and I just got one off eBay. Buying it is a bit of a risk as the seller has only sold 7 items and only 1 in the last year but has been a eBay member since 2008. I sent a message asking extra be giving to its packaging & shipping box. The seller also had it listed as a #44 Weeden and not a bing 10/120. Or is it a 70/120??
I saw somewhere these could have been sold by Sears?
Anyways, what's the story with the burner? The 3 wick cylinders seem to be rather large - what kink of wick do you use?
Here's hoping it shows up and undamaged.

Bruce, Larry and Gil:
Thank you for your kind feedback.
I hope to steam it soon.

(Attachment Link) Super nice example you have.
I also have a fairly nice Bing like this that came with it's box and on the box is 10/120/3. I did some research back when I acquired it and did find an article or some reference to the 10/120 model number.
The box is a hard cardboard that is very wood like with heavy staples.
A very well preserved label on that box! The label on mine fell off/disintegrated.
Thanks for posting the picture.
My reference to the 70/120 in the title of the thread came from the www.weedensteam.com website:
"Little is know about the history of this Bing engine, listed as either a 10/120 or 70/120.
Often mistaken for a Weeden No. 14, particullarily if the dark base with red pinstripes has been repainted. The groove in the flywheel and the shape of the cylinder are easy identifying features."

Lovely piece Charlie, have you steamed it at all? I would love to see it running sometime.

Hi Dave. Just catching up after a busy couple weeks.
I have not steamed it yet, but plan on doing so soon.
Video to follow.

How could you forget you had something as cool as that?
Now proudly displayed in the Steam Cave!
I put it away because the Throttle Control was stuck and I was pissed that the Seller did not disclose. Thankfully, it is all properly sorted now.

Yep, that was a nice one!
I think Danny bought it and it is on the way to my house. So, I will get to play with it before he comes and takes it back to Belgium. ;D

Charlie, your 70/120 looks spectacular!
It is in wonderful condition. I always liked the dark frame with red pin striping.

I'm assuming you seen the other very nice one that recently sold on ebay? I was very interested, but it's not coming this way
This one?

Very nice example.
I wonder where it ended up?
Not here as I think, I already have one but a boxed one would have been nice

A very nice Bing 10/120 or 70/120 that is a copy of the Weeden 14.
I forgot I had it. I found it in a cabinet when I was doing a little space management.
I have the original governor, but this replica works better. The replica came from:
https://classic-tin-toy-co.myshopify.com/search?page=1&q=Weeden
Original box, original instructions and the complete engine and burner.
The Steam Valve was horribly stuck (probably why I put it in the cabinet). 🤠. A few days soaking in penetrating oil was effective and I got it unstuck.
