Neat solution Carl, and I know what you mean... I had a roll of belting, and every time I went to use it, I had a mess  :D

Recently I bought more (200 ft) and it came nicely rolled up on a spool  :)

When I bought 10 meters of Green or Rubber Belting I always got it all in a mess.
I pushed the belting into a bottle (it took a little time). After that, I drilled a hole in
the bottle cap. I pulled out about 3 meters ( I had to put it back in) and it looks like
it has fixed my belting mess.
