Jensen made engines for the war effort as pumps. There were no boilers or wood bases.
-
Maxwell,
Very cool it's from a museum. I vaguely remember Jensen engines used during the war. Is that the connection the museum portrayed?
-
Well done, Mike...!!! It's a great piece of history and great that they got it from the museum.
Nick is a pretty interesting fellow too. He is a retired Formula 1 race car engineer.
Thanks Gil, now I can use some of your vast Jensen knowledge to clean it up a little while preserving it's patina :)

I believe the engine may now be back the the USA.
Who got it?
I did, and decided to keep it for it’s great history of being on display in one of our national museums telling the story of the Manhattan Project. It will sit next to my 1943 Rivetted boiler Jensen 50. Ellen & Nick Low sold me the engine & now they live in England. Ellen was the director of the museum until 2014.

I believe you are correct.

I believe it's sold.

Has anyone here seen pictures of the site glass end of the boiler?
Here they are.

Keep in mind if the price gets somewhere around the $3000 mark a US buyer will have to pay import duties. Fortunately for us, it is still a very low amount... BUT the shippers do not tell you this until you call them asking why your package is being held up. I believe I only had to pay $16 in import duties for my Maxitrak Case

Hi Nicklow,
I have not received a reply. I assume you are simply looking for what folks on here will offer. I'm also assuming your wanting euros.
A lot of folks on here may be a bit spoiled because most have paid much less for their Jensen 50's. I have bought a couple and later sold one of those to a friend for much less than $5000.00
I would start the bidding at $2000 USA.
Thanks
Jack

That is very special to have in the UK!

I am in the UK... I have a Jensen Model 50 Steam Engine. I brought it from America where it was used in a museum to teach children. It runs on a builders transformer as it is 110volt. transformer not included. I am thinking of selling it. Is there any interest. offers invited. Thanks Nick Low
Thanks for posting this, can't be too common in the UK! I have to pass on making any offers, but just curious if you have the receipt or know when this was purchased new, to help accurately date others out there?
-
Hi Jack, He is looking for offers. The engine is in the UK.
