Title: M90 Lubrication Question
Post by: 70Rcode on January 09, 2020, 05:59:07 pm
Hi all, this Silver M90/ET1  being my 1st gas engine with Rubber piston O-rings,  what is best fuel mix ratio & direct applied Lubricants for the O-rings, cylinder, piston skirt, piston pin & small end connecting rod bushing ?  I'm currently using Colemam camp fuel mixed about 75:1 with an ashless, Low smoke 2-stroke marine
engine oil in the gas tank but how best to Lubricate those  critical upper engine parts ? About every 15 short runs, i stand the engine on it's cylinder head end & with piston at 1/2 stroke, i fill the piston backside cylinder with about 1/4" of 5w-30 auto engine oil & holding exhaust valve slightly open, slowly run the piston thru it's stroke a few times using paper napkins to absorbe the excess expended oil. Is this correct or is there a better method to help insure best engine lifespan ? Thx, tom.
