Thank you, Charlie. I should have taken a couple pictures of it as found in the auction.
I saw what it looked like at the auction and it was rough.
You did a really nice job restoring this one Gil!
-
Thanks, Nick.
Yes.... I am mightily pleased!
-
Very impressive results Gil, you've got to be pleased with that ;D
-
I have given the
Fanning "Economy" Hot Air Pumping Engine
a real world test and demonstration.
Below is a video documenting the demo.

Gill that is amazing looking, it couldn't have been too grungy. I notice that the area where it's setting is a bit, mmm, well cluttered.
Now I have this new place and with just me here, there is plenty of extra room. If you like I could put some of those in, let's say,
storage for you and the best part would be for FREEEEEEE!
Thanks, Tommy. Yes.... I do have a bit of clutter. It is all good clutter!
It is great clutter Gil. And there is a bag of brass fittings hiding there.....somewhere. 🤠
There is absolutely a bag or three somewhere in the clutter. It shall be found!
One bag has re-surfaced...yay!
-
That engine will look marvelous with right bolts. Saw it in person during bidding, and the gears mechanism makes it very special
-
That's very nice, Gil.
And it would be fun to see what it looked like when you got it.

Great to see it running Gil!
And you sure work fast.
Looks much better that when you picked it up from the auction.
-
The engine almost looks like a robot when running! Here is a video of one:

Thanks for posting this, Chris. I found this video yesterday but did not have time to watch it. Now it's easy to find!
Parallelmotion (Brent) has one of these full size.
EDIT: This is Brent's video!
And Danny and I had the privilege of seeing it on Monday. 🤠
-
Great to see your engine in motion and thanks for the slow-motion!
-
Nice engine! Motion makes it look like it's "jumping" in place, very different.
-
Just like the real thing, it sure is fun to watch 8) and the slow-motion really helped to see what's going on.
-
And....
The video is ready!
Enjoy!

Nice find Gil like the mechanics of it. Like the video also. The pump, car and folks remind me of my grand parents. Guy seems proud of his stuff.
-
I like it! It looks pristine. Great job on the clean up. Video soon I hope.
-
Well....isn't that interesting, looking forward to it running soon.

Don't know what it looked like before, but you've got it looking good now 8) Hex-head bolts will definitely improve it more...
By the way, you have one of the best backdrops for photos ;)

Here are a few pictures of the Fanning Hot Air (Strirling Cycle) Pumping Engine model that I was fortunate to snag at the Cabin Fever Auction on Friday. It was a bit grungy and I have now gotten it presentable. Soon I will test it and then I'll replace most or all of the allen head (hex key) bolts with more correct looking hex headed bolts.
