Nice Resto Mike, board definitely does give it character. Would be fun to know how it narrowly escaped with it’s life.

I just wish I knew the story behind it. I asked the seller, but he just picked it up at a farm estate sale. Guess I’ll just have to make up something good. Lol
I got a story Mike , President James Madison was steaming it when the British set fire to the White House,  Dolly didnt have time to gather up the Jensen #10 & it got partially burned . My timeline "might" be a little off....😉😊

That’s a good one, but I think you’re right about the timeline!😆
Maybe Tom Jensen Sr was assembling a batch of these when an ash from his cigar dropped off unnoticed and set a smoldering fire to this base. It drew his attention before too much damage was done and he was able to put it out. Being the frugal man he was, it was still totally functional, so out the door it went!🤣🤣

I do like that you've kept the character of the burnt base , it does give it a uniqueness that no other #10 has, good work Mike.

What character! That baby has been saved for another generation after coming so close to oblivion. And it runs and generates so well. Jensens just want to run. As that old #10 moves through history it will no doubt  be tagged with a nick name. Toasty Ten for now!

That's great, Mike!

I love that you have preserved the fire damage.

Throw 10 on the barbie!

That is great  ;D  Glad you kept the base, as most would have replaced it.  8)

Now isn't that something special !

Except for the base ... who'd know, and I would definitely keep the base as it is.

When I spotted it on eBay, I had to have it because of the burnt base. I thought it was amazing how burnt it was, yet the most important parts were unaffected. I’ve paid less for 10s in better shape, but as you said, this one is special. Here’s some before pics.

Just finished breathing some life back into this mid-40s Jensen 10. I believe it may have been in a house fire. Glad it didn’t get tossed!
