She should be very happy about that. That's great stuff

I decided to not bid at this auction due to other recent purchases.
The burner lot is a treasure trove.
There is one Weeden Burner that I need.
If you decide to sell off any of the lot, please let me know.
-
I think you got 2 rare Buckmans in the second lot, but one is missing the entire cylinder & three legs Cast Iron Base. Not familiar with the other engines in the first lot.
You got it ;) Was also kind of interested in the TMY boiler/burner in the lot, but I could tell they were in bad shape...
Both Buckmans are missing their 3-legged cast bases, but I have complete ones here that I hope to have replicated... The "bee-hive" Buckman is actually a 2 cylinder, but will need a new flywheel and a pair of pistons/cylinders...
In the first lot, I wanted the Wormar Trojan Model D (vertical boiler on Meccano type base). I do not know the maker of the two marine engines... will have to check with Edward...
Nick, I would have been your competition on this lot if I did not have these two rare Buckman engines already ;D Glad you got them

Nick,
The copper burner is for a Lake Breeze table fan, not the floor model fan that was in the auction. This burner was an option but their floor fans almost always had ornate little brass kerosene lamps.

Nick, what's the plug in overtype in the first lot?
Weeden #702 in very poor condition

Randy, the cast iron Jensen's look nice. Blue is my fav color...

Nick, you'll have to publish a book on all of your obscure engines!
-
Nice one Randy, looks great cleaned up
-
I got this one from same auction. Cleaned up nicely. Inside of boiler is like new. Don't think it was ever run.
-
Looks like you could get a copy cast of the frames with legs for both Buckmans.
Congrats, Nick. A great haul...!!!!
Thanks Gil, by the way, what was the story on the auction? I read on facebook that the engines were in a damp barn for 20 years. By the looks of some of the pieces, I believe it!

These little 3-legged Buckmans were unknown to me until 3 or 4 months ago when I was offered the one on the right... I couldn't believe I'd find part of another so soon after :o

And this twin bee-hive has the same boiler diameter as the single I already had here (boiler simply pops on and off the base). Strange that Buckman had such a variety in boiler and piston/cylinder sizes...

I'm guessing that you were after the Weeden 14 burner, the Stuart ST with boiler and perhaps the beehive overtype?!?!
Meanwhile .... what you should probably say to your Lady when those big boxes arrive is something along the lines of .....
Well Honey, it's far better than spending the time and money down at the bar drinkin' with the boys!
Or perhaps this might be more fitting ... My name is Nick, and I'm a Steamaholic ......... ;c)

The burners are a nice bonus... I believe the big copper one on the left came from the Lake Breeze hot air fan that Gil bought for a friend. I thought the little round silver one with handle and two wicks was for a British Wilson, but it is slightly different... I also thought that engine was a Stuart ST and never took a second look as I already have one... The boiler is about the same size, but the engine is nearly twice the size :o very chunky!

And it's not one big piece, but instead lots of small pieces... I will be busy un-packing for awhile, so I'll just share the auction pics and see if any of you can guess what 3 pieces I wanted from the two lots??

All right, all right! What's in the bloody box?
Not trying to do a teaser ;) I'm cleaning a spot in the basement to get it opened up. I'm anxious to see if it all survived the trip from Rhode Island! :D
