Seems like alcohol can get you into trouble whether you are burning it or drinking it.
-
I find a silicone rubber tube about a foot long on the vent tube will evacuate alcohol fumes and dribbles far enough away to avoid extra unintended combustion!
-
That sir is why I love my Bix burners.
Haha I switched to the Bix burner for the second run. Can you imagine being a little kid and watching your prized toy engine go up in flames :o :o

One for you, two for me

My other 135/2 burners have always worked fine... not this one! :D
Kind of hard to grab it out of the engine when the vent is squirting flaming alcohol on your hand :D
I always run them with the firebox door open as a lot of fumes come out that vent and my first 135/2 had lost all its paint around the firebox door hole and was rusty from it.

I have several burn spots in my coach & floor from a Fleischman 135/2 from a very dangerous spirit burner, I tried several different ways to get it to perform as designed....from half full to barely anything in it....same eventual result, it would at some point erupt in a ball of flame ! (the vent was not plugged)

this you get when there is to much alcohol involved…

Bartender, you better take the Everclear away from me...
