Thanks Nick.
I have it in pieces now.
Lots of rust in the boiler.
Trying to clean it up.
I had the same thought on the Boiler, but it will not budge. So far, I have not removed the boiler and Firebox from the base.

Such a nice, original and unique piece 8)
I do think you need to slide the boiler back into place ;) may have slid forward in shipping?
The lathe is made by Prefo, I have a few boxed ones that I bought from Gil years back (both types of lathes and can't remember what else...) They have a base that was also sold to mount the tools on that's shown in your picture.
Unfortunately, I am away right now, so had to watch your video in silence, I will have to remember to come back and check it out.

GPM (VEB Geräte und Pumpenbau, Merbelsrod) with Original Advertising Poster
Post-WW II Model Steam Engine produced in East Germany.
All original and complete with instructions and box. I understand the red plastic condensate dish is often missing.
The model lathe is also pictured in the advertisement.
Roly Williams has a nice page on his.
