Clearly that beauty was an unbeatable entry .... even without knowing the backstory. Had that been general knowledge as well, I'm sure it would have garnered even more of the votes!

yes, the 1/2 size Sorg is one i built from photos taken of the Sorg in Wisconsin by a friend a long time ago.
since then the engine has disappeared.
the photos had a 1" paint brush laying on the side of the base which is what i used to scale the engine.
the Sorg was built by Diamond Iron Works, Minneapolis, Mn.
