Thanks Jan, me too. :)
-
That sure is a neat load there Lenn...
Fingers crossed it will yield enough heat, to keep you all fired up for some cool projects during winter :)
-
Thanks fellers, a few more dead trees and should be ready for winter. :)
-
Another impressive load Lenn
-
Yep ... I suppose that tractor would be too much fun out on the interstate.
-
Well seeing the only thing i have to tow the trailer with is the tractor it`s could take a while. lol.
-
That load looks about perfect for my little Buck Stove Lenn. So as long as you have it loaded up on that trailer anyway, why don't ya just drive it on over here and I'll promise to unload it all for you!?!? ;c)
-
Finished up with the slab pile for the shop stove today. :)

They were called door to nowhere but could be called anything, i seen one on the web if ya do a image search you`ll see some in various locations. :)
-
Not the door to nowhere .... but rather it's one of the "doors of perception"!
-
Ron, yep and i`m ready to go. :D
:) :)
Nick i made the bicycle from a hay rake wheel.
Just looked at the price of those bikes :o :o
And looks like making one would be my only option too!

Lenn: In the back ground of your pictures it looks like
a door to No Where or is possibly a Door To Go if needed!!
Ron
Haha just spotted that too. Also love that high wheel bike, would love to find one to try riding around!

We went through 4.5 tonnes this winter which ended yesterday and the coldest it got down to was 3°C one night.
Jim, I don’t think we turn the heat on till we get a few days in a row around 4-5°C ;) :D
15°C and the fire is lit here Nick :)
A top of 15° is a freezing day here, everyone you meet will say "how cold is today huh".......overnight temps of between 6°C - 10C° are the norm.
32C is a pleasant day, 38C is a warm day and starting to think the AC needs to be on. 45C is a hot day.

As I type right now, it’s 12°C and I’m sitting on the couch next to a big open window, feels good after 2-3 months of sweating :D Great sleeping weather

Nice work and good to hear from you Lenn, thanks for the pics! Being short, I have the advantage of not having to bend over so far when cutting firewood ;) :)

Hi Lenn, sorry to see life's ailments are coming on strong. You have our prayers and support while you are here on the way through.
No need to worry about visiting us only when you are comfortable enough.
We are blessed to see you here even if only occasionally.
Gil
Thanks Gil and we are still praying for you and yours.

Thanks everyone, yep have a hyd. splitter.
We`ll get this all split and put in a pile and see what we got, probably going to get some more dryer trees after the leaves fall, brush is so thick it`s like a jungle now.
Edit, A guy told me about lifting the logs up with the loader so ya can saw at chest level instead of bending over which is a real back saver.
All the blocks are rolled to the stack and piled by Norma, i just can`t do it.
-
Some good progress there :)
Do you use a hydraulic splitter, to split those blocks?
-
Done some hard work there Lenn.

That`s what i`ve saying it hurts so bad do get close to the ground that i messed up, no big deal i shouldn`t of mentioned it.
Thanks for the replies, start blocking today. :)
-
Dang...why would you cut below the notch, a mind-fart or was it intentional?
Anyway, very happy that it sort of solved itself with a gust of wind, without any major damage to you or your property.
Very nice batch you have there, but i feel your pain, and that´s just to some extent even, as i do not suffer from anything worth mentioning (physically at least ;D ).
But after 3 decades of felling and splitting just about 35m2 (1200ft2 ?) of firewood every year, i am starting to know what toll it takes, when working the pile.
A couple of years ago, i finally bit the bullet, and invested in a pellet stove, which has reduced the need for firewood radically...but naturally upped the expenses somewhat in return.
Nonetheless i highly recommend one of those Lenn, very easy to use as a backup if nothing else.

Ok.

As you wish Lenn ............. but for me, I'll just keep on grittin' my teeth whenever I need to, to be able to keep on truckin' ... as R. Crumb said.
-
I understand plenty well my own self Lenn .... but just wishin' and a hopin' that every once in a while yer feelin' well enough to come visit with us, even if you have ta grit yer teeth some ta do it!!!
I don`t understand what your saying, has nothing to do with gritting my teeth, oh heck i`m tired of explaining and as Merl say i just don`t care anymore.

Thanks Bruce, i`m about a goner, my lungs hurt my hip hurts my guts hurt my back hurts, heck everything hurts.
Having a real hard time for sure, been hurting for 40 years but i think i`m at the end of the trail soon.
To those that hold it against me for not being around guess ya just don`t understand.
-
Right nice batch of Wood Lenn...well done.
-
This might be the last year i`m going to be able to get wood up, fell these trees last few days.
It`s been really hard going with my health problems but gotta get er done.
Today for the first time in my life i cut below the notch and the tree fell backwards and pinched the saw in the middle of the tree and just stood there, after a bit a wind came and blew it over the wrong way and the butt bounced right on the saw.
Busted the rewind and the handle so had to fix that.
Now have to block it all and split it then pile it, dern wood.
