Thanks for advice. No paint it will be then, just cleaned and sealed.

Nick - I built it that way for a reason with regard to the firebox and boiler.

The way Mamod supply, unless you have a lineshaft a reasonable distance from the se3, it gets in the way of the burner.

I intend  building a workshop on an identical base to sit adjacent to it, so having the burner turned round 180 will make it easier .

Hope that makes sense.

Could you apply wax to seal it? It's really very cool as is.

I think it looks great. A little was on the Metal is all you need. Forget the paint. 😎
